Ryan Young, PMHNP

Ryan received his Masters of Science in Nursing from D’Youville University in 2023 as a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He has been a psychiatric nurse at ECMC since 2017 and has experienced various aspects of mental health. Prior to that, he served as a corrections officer for ten years, an experience that illuminated the scope of mental illness in the community. Inspired to help make a difference, he enrolled in nursing school in pursuit of a career in psychiatric nursing.

Ryan believes the patient-provider connection is most important to effective treatment; with a strong therapeutic alliance, he can assist with helping clients achieve their goals. He utilizes a dynamic yet informal approach based in empathy with an emphasis on patient autonomy. While trained broadly in mental health, Ryan has extensive experience helping those with depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

A lifelong Buffalo resident, he is committed to helping the community he has grown to love.
